Carricker Ford to sponsor Seniors Night at Oskaloosa
OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- This Wednesday night will be senior’s night at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA. All graduating seniors bring in your class ID and receive free admission into the Southern Iowa Speedway Wednesday night. Carricker Ford from Oskaloosa, IA will be the sponsor for senior night.
Racing will get underway with hot laps at 6:45 and racing to follow.
The season at the Southern Iowa Speedway has been getting better each week with new drivers coming out to the historic ½ mile speedway that has put on some of the best stock car racing in the country.
This Wednesday night will see the USRA Hobby Stocks racing which has only seen one repeat winner when Mark Steinke picked up his second win of the season two weeks ago.
The USRA stock car class too tough to tame has seen five different winners this season. Zack Vanderbeek, Brad Pinkerton, Bobby Greiner, TJ Criss, and Josh Newell have each won a race.
In the USRA modified class Corey Dripps picked up his second win of the season two weeks ago. Dripps was also the only modified that has won two times this season.
Also racing the Wednesday night will be the DTRA trucks that seen Karl Moyer pick up the win in there other visit to the speedway this season.
After five races this season Mark Steinke holds the point in the Hobby Stock points over Dustin Versteeg.
In the USRA Stock Car Class a very tight battle between the top four drivers with Zack Vanderbeek leading by two points over TJ Criss and Bobby Greiner two points behind Criss.
In the USRA Modified Class Brian Edel has taken the top spot over John Vandenberg three points behind with Zack Vanderbeek and Ron Ver Beek rounding out the top four.
After a week layoff due to the wet conditions at the speedway a good field of cars is expected.
The Southern Iowa Speedway has announced that a $10,000 to win Stock Car race will be held in August for USRA stock cars. This race will be held August 23-25 and a huge field of cars is expected for this event.
The Southern Iowa Speedway will also host a Memorial Day Special on Monday May 31st.
Gates will open at 4pm with hot laps slated for 6 and racing to follow.
Coca-Cola will be the sponsor of the race on Monday that will feature Hobby Stocks paying $300 to win, Stock Cars $400 to win and Modifieds paying $600 to win the main event.
