Searsboro telephone “Spring Challenge” blossoming with help of Sponsors

ALTOONA, Iowa -- The 2004 Searsboro Telephone “Spring Challenge” at the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds in Oskaloosa (IA) is rapidly gaining momentum with the assistance of several sponsors, including JOCKOS Sprint Parts, NORDICA Warehouse, Dirt Track Fury, and Hoosier Racing Tires. The 2004 McTwo Promotions event will be sanctioned by the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series for the first time will be held on Saturday, April 10th. “I’m really excited about this deal,” stated Terry McCarl about the event he will promote. “The IRA is a very organized group which was just one of the reasons I wanted this to happen. This is going to be a big deal!” McCarl further related that in addition to the $3000 winner’s check, there will be a bonus of $50 per car passed to the winner courtesy of JOCKO’s Sprint Car Parts. “Doug Brown has always supported sprint car racing and always loves giving back,” stated McCarl. In addition, as IRA rules do allow 360 sprints to compete, JOCKO’s has also issued a bonus of $200 to the highest finishing 360 sprinter and $100 to the 2nd highest finishing 360 sprinter.

NORDICA Warehouse will be supporting the night’s program with a $200 check for the night’s fast timer in qualifications. Drivers will draw for their qualifying number from the IRA’s Pit Trailer upon registration for the evening’s activities. Once time trials are complete, heat races will be lined up with a standard 6-car invert system. Those not directly transferring to the night’s A-Main event will have the chance to transfer through the Behling Race Parts “B-Main”, where the winner will receive a new right-rear tire courtesy of Hoosier Racing Tires. Dirt Track Fury, one of the countries premier yearbooks featuring cars and stars from the Mid-West region will be on sale in the IRA’s new souvenir trailer and will be issuing a bonus of $100 to the night’s DMI Hard Charger.

As if this wasn’t enough, McTwo Promotions will also be hosting an Easter Egg hunt for those in attendance 10 years old and younger. The hunt will be held between the B and A Main events and contestants will be divided into groups prior to being turned loose on Oskaloosa’s front stretch. Mid-West Heritage Bank will be rewarding two lucky participants with a truly special prize eggs in the form of a $100 Savings Bonds (one for each group of Easter-Egg hunters.

Grandstands are scheduled to open for general admission at approximately 5pm. Prices as follows: Adult admission -$15, Kids 6 to 12 - $5 and children under 5 are free.
