IRA sprinters announce 2004 schedule

McHENRY, Ill. -- The 2004 edition of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series has the popular upper-midwestern winged/410 tour appearing at twenty-four facilities within a five state region. The thirty-eight race schedule kicks off April 10th with IRAs' first ever visit to Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, before their traditional Wisconsin home opener at the Dodge Co. Fairgrounds a week later on April 17th with the annual Rick Schmidt Memorial.

Wisconsin hosts twenty-one events, while Iowa lays claim to nine. Minnesota brings in the IRA four times, while Illinois and Michigan hold two events each. Several traditional events return to the schedule including the May 15th IRA/Knoxville 410 Shootout at the famed Knoxville Raceway, Memorial Day weekend's triple header May 29-31 with events at Jackson (MN) Speedway, Echo Valley (IA) Speedway, and Wisconsin's Raceway @ Powercom Park. Wilmot hosts the annual King of Wisconsin/Wayne Daun Memorial June 19th, Hartford (MI) Speedway Park holds the Battle of Lake Michigan July 16th, with IRA returning to Knoxville for The Summer Classic July 23-24. August 28th is the Return of the Triple Crown at Powercom, Labor Day Weekend's annual Border Wars is Sept. 4-5 with shows at Grant Co. (WI) Speedway and Cresco (IA) Speedway. Superior (WI) Speedway is the home for the Northern Nationals Sept. 10th, with Cedar Lake (WI) Speedways' Jerry Richert Memorial Sept. 11th. IRA concludes it's ambitious schedule with the Frank Filskov Memorial Fall Classic October 2nd at the Sheboygan Co. (WI) Fair Park.

In addition to Oskaloosa, Vermilion Co. (IL) Speedway, and Princeton (MN) Speedway are new to the schedule, while IRA hopes to have Mother Nature cooperate to get in their first Dubuque (IA) Fairgrounds Speedway event in after being snowed out twice previously. Back on the schedule after long absences are Iowa's Davenport and Farley Speedway's, and Illinois' Kankakee Speedway. For open wheel lovers, IRA shares the card with the Badger Midgets July 3rd at Davenport, Aug. 21st at Farley, and Aug. 28th at Powercom Park. The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will also support four televised World of Outlaw events, these non-IRA point nights will be May 21-22 at Princeton, June 12th and Sept. 25th at The Raceway @ Powercom Park, and July 31st at Sheboygan Co. Fair Park.

In addition to Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, United Trailers, J&L Oil, and Midwest Underground are the major series sponsors.
