Stock Car Shootout July 2-3 at Southern Iowa Speedway
OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- One of the premier special events of the season for I.M.C.A.-sanctioned Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks precedes the holiday fireworks at Southern Iowa Speedway.
The eighth annual American Stock Car Shootout is Wednesday and Thursday, July 2-3 at Oskaloosa. Winner of the Thursday Stock Car feature earns $3,000 and the evening's Hobby Stock winner scores $1,250.
The Shootout opens with the track's regular weekly program on Wednesday. Stocks race for $500 to win, with the I.M.C.A. Hobby Stock main paying $150 to win.
I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modifieds round out the card and pay $400 to win.
Twenty-eight cars will start the two Thursday night features. Total purse for the Stock feature is $14,750. Payout for the Hobby main is $5,325.
There is no entry fee. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstands at 5 p.m. both days. The draw closes at 6 p.m., hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
All I.M.C.A. rules apply and will be enforced. The minimum 3,100 lb. weight rule for Stock Cars is in effect.
