Deery Series joins mid-season championship program at Southern Iowa Speedway
OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- The Deery Brothers Summer Series returns to Southern Iowa Speedway June 18, joining the mid-season championship program at Oskaloosa. The tour for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Models made its most recent visit to the half-mile speedplant two years ago. Late Models join sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks on the Wednesday evening card. Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing gets started at 7 p.m.
From Oskaloosa, the series travels to Independence Motor Speedway for a pre-holiday Thursday, July 3 show, then to Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, July 8 for the annual outing on asphalt.
Brent Slocum of Burlington became a first-time series winner in the last Deery race, on May 26 at Boone. Two-time champion Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, Ill., will take the points lead to Oskaloosa
