Better late than never - Southern Iowa gets rolling

OSKALOOSA, Ia. (April 26, 2002) - Night number two got under way a day late as mother nature took it's toll on the infield at the Southern Iowa Speedway on Wednesday night. Racing action resumed a day later with Midwest Heritage Bank night. Another full field of competitors took to the racing surface on Thursday evening. 21 IMCA Modified's, 28 IMCA Stock Cars and 36 Hobby Stock drivers were part of one of the toughest weekly IMCA shows in the Country.
The heats were all 7 laps taking the top 5 cars to the feature. The 2-B-mains for the Hobbies were 7 laps and transferred the top 2 cars to the feature. The Stock Car B-main transferred 5 to the feature. The features were 14 laps for the Hobbies, 16 laps for the Stock Cars and 18 laps for the Modifieds.

· Troy Folkert's picked up his second win at the Southern Iowa Speedway in as many races in 2002.
· Mike Hughes and Danny Wallace were both involved in an accident in between turns 1 & 2 when Hughes spun and Wallace had no where to go and crashed into the right side of the Hughes #11. Both cars were able to re-start and have top five finishes.
· John Vanden Berg and Troy Folkerts battled for the lead the last 8 laps with each driver sharing the top spot every other lap.
