Lebanon Midway Speedway hosts Tony Roper Memorial this Sunday
This Sunday, May 30, the mighty Lebanon Midway Speedway will be hosting the Tony Roper Memorial featuring the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series with USRA B-Mods competing in a $500-to-win, $75-to-start feature awarding USRA track, regional and nationl points.
This event honors the Ozarks driver who lost his life in a NASCAR Truck Series race in Texas.
Roper, who started his career in Modifieds, climbed the ladder to pavement Modifieds, weekly Late Models, the ASA national touring series and NASCAR racing.
Roper was known to have an excellent work ethic and knowledge of cars, and was looking at a possible car or crew chief after he was going to hang up the helmet.
The event will also feature the Cash Money Super Late Models, Midwest Mods Legends, Pure Stocks and FWD Hornets.
Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. while the grandstands open at 5 with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30.
Adult pit passes will be $35 with adult grandstand admission $17. Seniors and military are $14.
