Mother Nature wins at Chateau Raceway

LANSING, Minn. - Mother Nature was the big winner for the second week in a row as Chateau Raceway powered by Miners Outdoor & Rec was forced to cancel the races because of rain Friday night.

The day started out with beautiful blue skies, but clouds moved in during the afternoon and turned to a misty fog late in the afternoon. By early evening, light rain moved in and the night's show was scrapped.

It’s the third show the track has lost to weather this year.

Next Friday night, the Chateau Raceway will kick off the Memorial Day Weekend with the first of two appearances by the USMTS Modifieds with the winner pocketing $2,000. Also running will be the Power 96 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, S & S Auto Salvage Junior and Senior Hornets and the Pizza Ranch Pure Stocks.

The RS Auto Rebuilders WISSOTA Street Stocks and Farm Boy BBQ WISSOTA Super Stocks will have the night off, but all classes will return the following week, alogn with the USRA Modifieds, for the 12th Annual Mike Guttormson Memorial and extra purse money.

That will make for two big weeks of racing action at the 1/3-mile oval located five miles north of Austin.

Race time each week is 7:30.
