American Racer USRA Modified Series lift off March 13 at Monarch Motor Speedway
If there’s any snow and ice still clinging to life in North Texas this weekend, the debut of the American Racer USRA Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports this Saturday, March 13, at the Monarch Motor Speedway is sure to melt anything left.
Combining their efforts to keep dirt modified racing alive and well, several of the top dirt ovals in the South Central region of the United States will host one or more events during the 2021 racing season for the newly-formed series for USRA Modifieds.
The first event will take place March 13 at the Monarch Motor Speedway with up to $3,000 up for grabs for the USRA Modified winner at the popular Wichita Falls facility. There’s only one first time, and one racer will etch his or her name atop the record books as the first-ever ARMS victor.
Saturday’s show is also the season opener at the racetrack with USRA Limited Mods, Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks and USRA Tuners plus Eco-Mods on the racing card. The pits open at 2 p.m. and grandstands open at 3:30 with hot laps getting underway at 4:30 p.m. and racing to follow.
General admission is $20 while seniors (55+), active military and first responders are just $15. Kids ages 6-11 get in for $5. Pit passes are $35 or $15 for kids ages 6-11.
USRA competitors are encouraged to purchase a USRA license ahead of time at usraracing.com/register as tracks no longer issue them. Temp licenses will be available at the track for $10. Track division event purses are posted at the track’s website under the Registration/Rules tab.
PW Transportation Dash for Cash: GPW Transportation of Belton, Texas, is putting up $500 to win for the Dash for Cash. After the USRA Modified qualifiers have been completed, the top 8 in points will go to the GPW Transportation Dash For Cash. The winner will collect $500 and earn the right to start the feature from the pole.
However, the dash winner can choose to turn down the pole position, keep the $500 and start the feature from eighth place. If that driver wins the feature, he or she will win the Monarch Challenge and receive an additional $500 from GPW Transportation.
Race fans won’t be left out in the cold either. After the GPW Transportation Dash For Cash, those eight drivers’ names will be assigned to eight lucky race fans. If the driver assigned to you wins the feature, you win $100 cash.
Meet the track's mascot A-Main: He’ll be available for pictures and selfies throughout the event (for free, of course) which make for great memories of your visit to the Monarch Motor Speedway.
Come hungry, leave happy: We have great food in our concession stands, so come hungry and we'll fix you up at an affordable price. The Monarch Motor Speedway sells adult beverages (under the grandstands). Outside food or drink coolers are not allowed inside the ticket gate.
Rainout policy: If the races rain out before completion of the heat races, hold on to your ticket stub or pit pass as it will be valid for the next scheduled race of same price.
If the races rain out after the heat races, the event is considered complete and any remaining races will not be rescheduled. All drivers will receive start money for their scheduled division that night for any feature events rained out.
The Monarch Motor Speedway is a 1/4-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 4 miles west of I-44 in Wichita Falls on Hwy 287, then head north about 3/4 mile on FM 369 (7300 Kiel Ln, Wichita Falls, TX). For more information, visit mmsdirt.com.
