Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa, was the place to be on Friday night as track champions were crowned in four USRA classes after an evening filled with plenty of action provided plenty of entertainment for every fan in the packed grandstand.

In the Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stock feature race, Decorah driver Josh Ludeking charged from his 11th starting spot to the lead with only a handful of laps remaining to claim his fourth win at the track this season.

En route to securing the track points title, Ludeking worked his way around second-place finisher Dru Kueker and early leader Justin Lichty (third).

Hometown driver Mike Darnall took fourth place while Adam Speicher came home fifth.

Josh Ludeking won the Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stock main event.

The American Racer USRA Stock Car feature went to Decorah’s Mitch Hovden who started eighth in the field and maneuvered around several of the best Stock Car racers in the country to pick up his fifth win of the year at the track.

Hovden also secured the top spot in the season points standings.

Finishing second in the race was Kyle Falck followed by Kevin Donlan in third.

After a strong start to the race, a visible steering malfunction aided Lynn Panos's drop from the lead to a fourth-place finish on the night.

Rounding out the top five was Caledonia, Minnesota’s Jake Lampert.
 

Mitch Hovden won the American Racer USRA Stock Car main event.

Troy Hovey picked up his first win of the season at FCS as he was able to pass Dan Hovden with only two laps left in the 20-lap USRA B-Mod main event.

Ben Moudry took third in the feature race, just ahead of Josh Roney in fourth and hard-charger Jerry Luloff in fifth.

Luloff started the race in 15th after struggling in his heat race.

While Hovden was not able to pick up the win, he did accumulate enough points to win the season championship as he finished the year with four wins.

Troy Hovey won the USRA B-Mod main event.

In the USRA Tuner class, Elkader driver Josh Hills earned his third win of the season as he advanced three spots from his starting spot in the final points race of the season.

Hills was able to fend off challenges from runner-up David Balik and third-place finisher Steve Lane.

Jeremiah Anderson took fourth while Brad Stahl took fifth.

Stahl’s fifth-place finish provided him with just enough points to take the points title as only seven points stood between him and season runner-up Hills.

Josh Hills won the USRA Tuner main event.

While Friday night’s action put a wrap on the 2020 season for weekly points racing, the track will host one final event on Sunday, Sept. 6, when the United States Modified Touring Series comes to town for the 8th Annual USMTS War in West Union.

Also in action that night will be the the Christie Door Company Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods plus Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks.
