McDaniel takes another win at Bloomfield Speedway

BLOOMFIELD, Iowa - Racing action resumed at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway after a break in the action for the pit-stop durn the week of sprint car racing in Southern Iowa. The night was sponsored by the Bloomfield Democrat, Tri-County Grain and the Memphis Bottling Company.

A total of 75 cars in action in all five divisions with several new cars making the trip to the semi-banked clay oval at the Davis County Fairgrounds.

The Mikels Inc. USRA Hobby Stock feature started with a red flag for Nick Ulin of Agency who flipped on the backstretch but walked away under his own power. After the action resumed the battle for the lead saw two and three wide racing with Jason McDaniel taking his second straight and 15th of the season to help boost his chase for the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series title in the Hobby Stock division. Jim Walker of Mystic took the second spot followed by Andy Coleman of Packwood and Tony Teninty of Eldon, who came from the back after a flat tire.

The USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods saw Mike Shelton of Bloomfield take his second career win. Jared Miller, formerly of Bloomfield now from West Des Moines, took a close second followed by Tyler Groenedyk of Oskaloosa in third and Mark Forrester of Columbia, Mo., in fourth in his first ever visit to the Bloomfield Speedway.

Next week's racing action is sponsored by Stampede Graphics of Bloomfield and Golden Furrow Fertilizer. All five classes along with the Mid-America 305 Winged Sprints are on the card with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing action at 7:30. With only two weeks remaining at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway, the points battles are heating up and racing action is hotter than ever.

Hope to see you at the races!
