Lodge, Mather, Schroeder, McDaniel take Southern Iowa Fair spotlight

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Wednesday’s show in front of a jam-packed grandstand during the Southern Iowa Fair saw the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series action.

The USRA Hobby Stock feature went to Jason McDaniel of Eldon who took the lead from Don Nunnikhoven when Nunnikhoven cut a right front tire. The second spot went to Kevin Fee of Knoxville, with Danny Thrasher of Agency in third.

The USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods saw Cory Brown lead the field to the green, but Andrew Schroeder of Keswick took the lead and the win, with last week's winner, Brian Edel of Oskaloosa, in second and Rick Landgrebe of Sigourney in third.

In the MUSCO Lighting USRA Modified main event, Donovan Lodge of Moline, Ill., led all 16 laps in holding of current points leader Ron Ver Beek of Oskaloosa. Third place money went to Webster's Colt Mather.

The USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars saw Mike VanGenderen of Newton lead all but the final lap with Colt Mather making the pass after VanGenderen jumped the cushion in turn 3 and finished in second. Osky driver Corey Stout was third.

Next Wednesday, July 30, will see the return of the amazing Modifieds of the O'Reilly USMTS National Tour. The night will also feature NASCAR stars Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace piloting their own high-powered Modifieds, along with Jimmy Spencer as "Mr. Excitement" will serve as Grand Marshall and Master of Ceremonies for the evening's events.

Also on the racing card will be a complete program of the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.
