Rodney Sanders won the USRA Modified feature.

After the rainfall that plagued Southeast Kansas the past week, Rodney Sanders brought a little sunshine to Humboldt Speedway as the Happy, Texas, driver took the USRA Modified feature.

Sanders, starting outside the front row, inherited the lead after Mayetta’s Darron Fuqua lost power on lap 5. Sanders outpaced the field from there on his way to the $1,000 victory.

Heat race wins went to Matt Johnson, Tyler Davis and Fuqua.

The Humboldt Speedway is featuring USRA Modifieds six times during the 2019 racing season. The fourth show takes place Friday, June 28, with the fifth happening on July 19 and the final race on August 23.

All six shows will pay $1,000 to win and $100 to start. Drivers will earn both track and national points in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series as well as the CP-Carrillo Central Region presented by MVT.
