Nix parks it in TOMS winners circle at Lawton
With 29 Touring Outlaw Modified Series USRA Modifieds rolling into the Lawton Speedway after three weeks shut down because of Mother Nature, C.A. Nix was the car to beat Saturday at the Lawton Speedway.
Starting from his first heat performance racing from seventh to first, and then brought the special touch on the redraw to pull the pole position for the main event.
Other strong heat performance were turned in by Troy Taylor, Donnie Shipp and Skip O’Neal.
At the drop of the green, Nix made it look easy stretching the lead lap after lap.
The race's only caution came out early on lap two. On the restart, Nix led the field to the green with Taylor close at hand.
As Nix started chasing down lapped traffic Taylor was maintaining eye sight of the lead. Nix worked through traffic high and low all the way up to the bumper of the third-place car of Kale Westover.
Taylor was not able to get closer than a car-length to Nix's bumper as Nix took the checkered flag in the 25-lap feature.
