ARCADIA, Wis. (July 20, 2001) - The Fox Ridge Speedway in Arcadia welcomed the United States Modified Touring Series back to the speedway for their second visit of the season along with big paydays for the WISSOTA Super Stocks and Street Stocks.

Scott Paulson sat on the pole for the Street Stock main event and wasted no time jumping out into the lead at the start with Tony Sass and Shaun Wehlage battling for second. Paulson pulled out to a big lead early on as Wehlage was being hounded by Daryll Foegen for second.

Rex Welch, Greg Erickson and Jimmy Randall were beginning to move toward the front as they began to duke it out for fourth just behind the leaders.

Paulson continued to show the way and stretch his lead with each and every lap while Randall began to work his way up toward the top three. Jimmy Patzner was having a solid run while trying to hold off Randall for second.

Paulson had his way with the field tonight and picked up the easy win over Randall, who was able to blast by Patzner into second at the line.

Jon Duffy took command at the start of the Super Stock feature while Bill Clemens and Bob Fort began to battle it out for second early on. Duffy quickly stretched his advantage while Clemens was trying to dispose of Fort for second. John Doelle and Jason Johnson were making their way toward the front.

The running order remained the same as Clemens was working the top side of the speedway and was making up some ground on Duffy, but Duffy was very strong on the low side of the track. A late race caution changed the complexion of the event when Doelle and Johnson coming together, ending Johnson's run and sending Doelle to the tail.

On the restart, Duffy suddenly experienced some mechanical troubles and ended his sights at the $1,000 payday. Clemens inherited the lead and set off into the night, while Lyle Schlomer was able to blast into second and close in on Clemens. Schlomer reeled in Clemens quickly and began to pressure him for the lead, but Bill was too strong and went on to pick up the win. Schlomer recorded his best career finish in a Super Stock with an impressive second place run and Fort rounded out the top three.

The USMTS Modified main event was the final event on the card and saw Kelly Shryock bolt into the lead at the start, bringing Tim Donlinger into second.

Corey Dripps and Jason Hughes were also engaged in a great battle for third early on. Donlinger was running very well on the low side of the speedway and was reeling in Shryock lap after lap until he was able to pull alongside of Kelly on lap 14. Shryock then began to work hard on the high side to hold onto the lead, but Donlinger was too strong and stole the spot away on lap 16.

Meanwhile, Mike Chasteen, who was forced to start 22nd on the grid, was making his way through the field and appeared in the top 5. Chasteen continued his march toward the front and was picking up position after position and suddenly blasted under Shryock into second with 4 laps to go.

Donlinger had a nice sized lead built up, but Chasteen was flying in his # C40 and quickly reeling him in and made a bid for the lead as the white flag flew. Chasteen made it interesting at the end, but could not make the pass as Donlinger went on pick up the win. Chasteen finished in second and Shryock rounded out the top three.
