FLIPPIN, Ark. -- After three consecutive nights of racing getting rained out drivers were anxious to get back on track, and another large crowd turned out to watch the next-to-last night of on-track excitement Friday evening at North Central Arkansas Speedway.

The USRA Modified feature race was the second feature race to get on the track, taking the green flag with Kandy Methvin and Rob Muilenburg on the front row. Muilenburg used the high side of the track to take the lead coming off turn 2 and never looked back as he led all 20 laps of the race to capture his fourth feature win of the season.

Methvin had his hands full for most of the event with a hard driving Todd Knight after Knight grabbed the second spot following a brief yellow flag period on lap one, but Methvin was able to get back past Knight on lap sixteen, and engine troubles on the final lap for Knight caused him to fall back from Methvin as they raced to the checkered flag.

NCAS will be on the track for the final time in 2012 this Friday night, Sept. 28. The Racing for Education Kids Club will have more giveaways for the kids during intermission along with the traditional candy toss for children 12 and under.

The final event at the speedway this year will be the Racer’s Flea Market & Automotive Swap Meet on Saturday, Sept. 29. Booth space is available and everyone in invited to attend! For more information call or email the track at raceinfo@yellville.net.

North Central Arkansas Speedway is located between Yellville and Flippin on Hwy. 62-412. The gates open at 6 p.m. on Friday nights, with the racing starting at 8 p.m. Adult admission is $10, seniors and those with a military ID card are $8, children 7-14 years of age are $5 and kids 6 and under get in free. A family plan is just $20 for two adults and any children 14 and under. Pit passes are $25.
