Justin Whitehead won the Sunoco USRA Factory Stock main event.

MANY, La. (May 23, 2025)—Sabine Speedway hosted Night 1 of the Triple Crown Throwdown on Friday, part of the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series, drawing a massive 43-car field in the Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks alongside fierce competition in USRA B-Mods and USRA Limited Mods.

Defending Sunoco USRA Factory Stock national champion Justin Whitehead delivered a commanding performance, pocketing $1,500 for his A Feature victory.

Whitehead, of Texarkana, Texas, lived up to his championship pedigree, leading from the start to claim the $1,500 prize. Tracy Denby Jr. of Vidor, Texas, finished second, followed by Dalton Faulkner of Cut and Shoot, Texas, in third. Mark Underwood Jr. of Ruston took fourth, and Ross Cook of Florine rounded out the top five.

In the USRA B-Mod Feature, Talan Willis of Elizabeth claimed the win, charging from the fifth starting position.

Phil Dixon of Crosby, Texas, finished second, followed by Boone Evans of Bullard, Texas, in third. Joel Couvillion of Alexandria took fourth, and Daniel Jones of Provencal rounded out the top five.

The USRA Limited Mod Feature saw veteran racer Derick Grigsby of Marshall, Texas, take the checkered flag from the pole position.

Ethan Bailes of Elizabeth secured second, with Ball's Mickey Steele in third. Derrick Lofton of Pollock claimed fourth, and Colton Davis of Prairieville finished fifth.

The Triple Crown Throwdown’s opening night set a high bar for the weekend, with drivers showcasing precision and speed under the Sabine Speedway lights.
