Davis drives to Dairyland Showdown win

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. (May 3, 2025)—The second and final night of the Dairyland Showdown featured another stacked field of USRA Modifieds as the USRA Kevko Racing Northern Lights Modified Series presented by Real Racing Wheels thrilled the fans at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., on Saturday.
Polesitter Cole Queensland of Grand Meadow, Minn., jumped out to an early lead in the 35-lap main event for the high-powered USRA Modifieds, but was quickly disposed of on lap two when Kaden Blaeser of Chippewa Falls wrestled the lead away, and then drove away from the field until the race's first caution waved on lap 11.
On the restart, Blaeser had his hands full with two-time USRA Modified National Champion Brandon Davis of Hayfield, Minn., and last year's USMTS National Champion Jim Chisholm of Osage, Iowa. The pair split the leader with Chisholm leading Davis by a bumper at the flagstand as they completed lap 12.
Joe Chisholm, also from Osage, snuck underneath Parker Hale of Grand Meadow, Minn., on lap 25 to claim the fourth position while his older brother, Jim Chisholm, began to whittle away at the leader's advantage. Davis, however, Davis danced through heavy lapped traffic and passed beneath the checkered flag with a 1.519-second cushion over Jim Chisholm.
Davis pocketed $3,000 for his effort against a stellar field of 32 entries that featured six national champions representing 15 combined USMTS and USRA titles.
The Mississippi Thunder Speedway will be racing under the lights again on Friday, May 16, for American Family Insurance Free Night featuring the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Eco-Mods are on tap.
Next up for the USRA Northern Lights Series will be on Saturday, June 7, at the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway, followed by a two-hour trip up I-35 on to the North Iowa Fairgounds on Sunday, June 8, to tackle the Pritchard Family Auto Stores Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa.
