Wolff wins USRA Modified National Championship


An impressive season for Tyler Wolff ended with two titles under the United States Racing Association banner, including his first USRA Modified National Championship in 2024.

Behind the wheel of his familiar Lobo Racing No. 4W ARMI Contractors machine, Wolff wound up wearing two crowns as he also emerged as the first champion of the new USRA Heartland Modified Tour presented by Real Racing Wheels.

In total, the 39-year-old from Fayetteville, Ark., entered 40 events and came away with the winner’s paycheck in 18 of those Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series shows. He had 29 top-five and 30 top-ten finishes.

In the final national points, Wolff edged two-time defending USRA B-Mod national champ Joe Chisholm of Osage, Iowa, for the title while 17-time I-35 Speedway feature winner Tyler Hibner of Chillicothe, Mo., was third in the final tally.

Three of his wins happened in USRA Heartland Modified Tour action where he topped Chad Wheeler of Muskogee, Okla., and Brandon Givens of Wichita, Kan., in the final points for the HMT’s freshman season.

Along with a lot of winning occurred and a bunch of miles were added to the odometer in Wolff’s race car hauler as he made visits to 19 different dirt ovals in four different states: 81 Speedway, Arrowhead Speedway, Caney Valley Speedway, Crawford County Speedway, Creek County Speedway, Electric City Speedway, Humboldt Speedway, I-35 Speedway, Lakeside Speedway, Longdale Speedway, Lucas Oil Speedway, Midway Speedway, Monett Motor Speedway, Nevada Speedway, Salina Highbanks Speedway, Salina Speedway, Tri-State Speedway, Tulsa Speedway and Valley Speedway.

Wolff will collect $10,000 from an overall points fund of more than $100,000 and contingency awards worth over $40,000. Including national, regional, rookie and track points funds, nearly $1 million is returning to racers at season's end.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points for all divisions include each competitor’s best twenty (20) points nights during the 2024 campaign. Each competitor must have competed in at least one-half of the events held at any one USRA-sanctioned racetrack to be eligible for national points funds.

Awards Banquet approaching: The annual USRA Awards Banquet is Saturday, January 25, inside the 12,000-square-foot Star Pavilion at the Ameristar Casino Hotel located at 3200 N Ameristar Dr, Kansas City, MO 64161. This will once again be a joint celebration for the USRA and United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). Tickets go on sale Nov. 29.
