ELMA, Wash. -- The smash hit success of last year’s Fan Appreciation Night will be back at the Grays Harbor Raceway in 2012 with the radio station 104.7 KDUX sponsoring the evening’s events. Co-sponsors for the race will be Our Community Credit Union as well as Pepsi which will feature samples free for tasting courtesy of the Harbor Pacific Bottling Inc. This year’s Fan Appreciation Night will take place this Saturday, June 2, and feature 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks and Hornets at the Elma facility.

For Fan Appreciation Night heat races will be eliminated so that fans can partake in a meet and great session on the race track with all of the cars and drivers. This will take place after qualifying and is expected to last forty-five minutes or so. Some teams will have some giveaways such as candy for everyone while other teams have available photographs and hero cards to sign and giveaway.

In 2012 there have been two different winners in two different races in both the 360 Sprints and the USAC Ford Focus Midgets. Garrett Johnson and Jared Peterson have both earned wins in the USAC Ford Focus Midgets while J.J. Hickle and Ricky Fauver have both won in the 360 Sprints. The USRA Modifieds have had five features and four different winners with Scott Miller having two features wins and Joe German, Lawrence O’Conner, and Tom Sweatman all with one apiece. The Hobby Stocks have seen Jason Tole win three straight feature wins while the Hornets has Chad Norton credited with two feature wins and Jake Mills a win also.

104.7 KDUX is Western Washington’s classic rock station including the tunes of AC/DC, Aerosmith, KISS, Ozzy Osborn, and many more. KIX 95.3 is the Harbors new country featuring great music from country’s biggest stars and bands . The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large size. Hosting regular racing action from April to September with 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets as regular classes. In addition the venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-National Tour.

Pit gates open at 2:30, front gates open at 4:30 and racing starts at 6:30. Adult grandstand admission is $13, seniors (62+), juniors (15-18) and military personell get in for $10, kids ages 6-14 are $5 and children 5 and under get in for free. Premium seating is $20 and pit passes are $30.
