Gould, Artherton, Brownlee triumph in Tulsa

William Gould won the USRA Modified main event.

William Gould won the USRA Modified main event.

On a beautiful night following Independence Day, racers and fans attended a make-up race that proved to be a battle all night.

Many racers struggled in the USRA Modified feature with six cars not able to finish the race, but veteran William Gould took the win after moving up three spots.

Chad Davis won the first heat with Nathan Hagar getting the checkered in the second.

Points leader Mike Duvall held his spot but Troy Martin Jr. closed the gap to just 14 points.

Colby Atherton advanced two spots to win the USRA B-Mod feature after finishing third in the heat race won by Ron Hough. Duvall continues to lead the class in points.

Connar Brownlee continued his winning streak in the USRA Tuners by taking thetop spot in both the heat and feature. His No. 41 car is a force this year and continues to increase his points lead, now to 77.

The top three in the feature race were Connar Brownlee, Braxton Brownlee and Cale Hancock.

Congratulations to our winners tonight. Our next race is Friday, July 19, followed on July 26-27 for the World of Outlaws. Thank you to SNP Photography for the great pictures of tonight’s racing.
