Schedule Update: American Racer Modified Series
Due to a previously unrealized schedule conflict, officials with the USRA American Racer Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports, along with track officials at both Outlaw Motor Speedway and Tri-State Speedway, have made the decision to postpone the double header originally scheduled for this weekend, June 14 and 15. The new rescheduled dates will now fall on July 19 and 20.
“Somehow there were some lines of communication that got crossed up, and we had both the ARMS modifieds and the ASCS National Tour scheduled on the same night June 15,” said Tris State owner Jake Davis. “The purse money to run both series on the same night just isn’t feasible. It was an oversight on our part, and I can’t thank both the American Racer Modified Series and the staff over at Outlaw Motor Speedway enough for working through this with us.”
After exploring a shift in venue, as well as other possible alternatives, ultimately both track and series officials felt it was in the best interest of all involved to move both dates and keep the one-two weekend punch intact.
“We discussed running as a stand-alone event next Friday night but decided that wasn’t the smartest decision for anyone given the current economic times,” commented Dan King, Outlaw Motor Speedway Promoter. “It’s more advantageous for racers who travel to be able to get in a couple of shows within a weekend, rather than run stand alone events. We feel this will help in creating a higher car count. Plus, we get an opportunity to step back and pump up the promotion for this show even more. We have some cool things planned for when the Modifieds come to town, and now we have more time to execute those plans. In the end I think it’s a win win for everyone.”
As of now, Friday night July 19, at the Outlaw Motor Speedway will pay the standard $2,000 to win, $250 to start feature purse, but track officials hope to bring in sponsorship dollars to raise that purse.
When the series returns to the Tri-State Speedway, on Saturday July 20, the winner will see a $2,500 paycheck at the end of the night, while everyone making the A Feature will receive a minimum of $350 to start.
