HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- As the curtin drew to a close on Humboldt Speedway's regular season Friday night, 1993 track champion John Allen started the night with a chance to pass Justin “Whitey” Folk for the USRA RHS Modified points championship, but Folk would not be denied.

While Brian Bolin won the feature and Allen finished second, Terry Beckham II was third with Scott Daniels fourth and Ryan Whitworth fifth.

Folk, meanwhile, drove a conservative, well-planned race and finished exactly where he needed to be to win the season championship by 18 points. It was his third track championship in a row, and eighth overall since winning his first in 2000.

Jess Folk Jr. won the crown in 1999 and has four more since then as the two brothers from nearby Iola have reigned for 13 straight seasons in the Modified division.

Justin “Whitey” Folk finished sixth to lock up his third straight track championship.
