KASSON, Minn. -- Central Minnesota racers made their long drives pay off with feature wins at the Dodge County Speedway Snday night.

Kylie Kath and Jake Timm had a good battle early on in the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mod feature. They touched slightly and Timm took the lead on lap 8. Timm led the rest of the event for the win.

Jay Ihrke took the initial lead in the USRA RHS Modified 25-lap feature. Jason Cummins quickly worked to second with Brandon Davis third. Cummins, Davis and Steve Wetzstein rotated around the speedway in close formation while Ihrke pulled away.

Davis got by Cummins on lap 9 for second and started to reel in Ihrke slowly but surely. Cummins and Wetzstein touched and Wetzstein spun but kept going. Meanwhile, Davis caught Ihrke and disposed of him on lap 13 for the lead. Cummins also caught Ihrke and took over second on lap 17.

Davis cruised from there for his fourth win of the season. Cummins finished a strong second with Ihrke third. Joel Alberts came home fourth and Joe Horgdal rounded out the top five.

SG Promotions announced tonight that weekly racing will cease at the Dodge County Speedway for the remainder of the 2011 season. Stan and Sandy Gilbertson would like to thanks the fans and drivers that supported the speedway this season. However the numbers were not good enough to make weekly racing feasible to continue.

There are still two shows that will be run which will include the USMTS Modified special on Sunday, Sept. 4, and the Sprint Car special slated for Saturday, Oct. 8. Watch the Dodge County Speedway facebook page and www.dodgecountyspeedway.com for more information.
