KASSON, Minn. -- It was another hot and steamy Sunday at the Dodge County Speedway. It made track prep more difficult trying to keep moisture in the surface. One driver added to his win total and another ended a drought.

The race with the most excitement was the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mod feature. It took three tries to get it going and Kylie Kath took the lead from the start. Billy Steinberg and Brandon Hare battled for second until Steinberg gained the advantage.

Steinberg looked low on Kath for the lead and they went side-by-side on laps 3 and 4. Steinberg used the low line to steal the lead on lap 5. Brandon Hare snagged second after a restart on lap 6. Then it was Scott Demmer who challenged Kath for third.

Meanwhile, back up front Steinberg had his car stuck to the infield and Hare tried to wrestle his car lower. Hare made contact with Steinberg in the entrance to turn 1 and Steinberg spun and out came the yellow. Hare was ruled at fault and Steinberg received his spot back for a green-white-checkered finish.

Steinberg had his hands full with Kath on the final circuit. They touched when they came into turn 4 and Steinberg got a little loose. Steinberg gathered his machine back up and led everyone else to the checkered flag.

It was three years to the day of Steinberg’s last checkered flag at the Dodge County Speedway in the Pure Stock class.

Jason Cummins dominated the 25-lap USRA RHS Modified feature. Cummins redrew the outside front row and checked out and won by a large margin.

Josh Angst worked his way past Tom Brink on lap 10 for the second position. Steve Wetzstein got by Brink for third while Jay Ihrke was fourth and Brink fifth.
