Jess Folk Jr. scores second win at Humboldt
HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- Jess Folk Jr., who has had his fair share of trouble early on, seems to have hit on the winning set up in a big way as he powered his way through the USRA RHS Modified feature field on his way to his second win of the year Friday night at the Humboldt Speedway.
Folk battled early with fellow front row starter Scott Daniels until the track seemed to come to the car before he powered away.
Maintaining through a pair of cautions, it was a duel to the finish with the second-place finisher, brother Justin "Whitey" Folk, in hot pursuit.
Daniels finished third, fourth went to Chris Morgan of Topeka, making his debut at 'The Hummer' and Terry Beckham II was fifth.
Next week will feature racing on Friday and Saturday night at the Humboldt Speedway. The unfortunate passing of Demo Derby promoter Johnny Womack left this years August 6 date open, so promoters Ron and Rhenda Whitworth have decided to fill the void by making up an earlier rain out date. Gates open at 6 p.m. both nights, with racing at 8 p.m. Friday is Autograph Night when kids get to meet the drivers at half time.
