Grays Harbor Raceway returns to action with Fireworks Spectacular, Mid-Season Championship

ELMA, Wash. -- The Grays Harbor Raceway is anxious to end its recent streak of cancellations with the return of racing this Saturday, July 7, for the annual Firework Spectacular and Mid Season Championship. A unique format will be implemented for the night’s events and it will all be concluded with a fantastic firework spectacular.

Jason Tole is looking to extend his win total in 2012 in the Hobby Stocks as he has amassed four victories while Brian Harding is the only other winner in the classification. Chad Norton still has the leading totals when it comes to main event victories in the Hornets this season but is joined by Jake Mills, Brian Norton, and Kyle Mast while Zack Floreck is the most recent winner after his victory on Friday June 22nd. Jared Peterson has two wins to his credit in three USAC Ford Focus Midgets action as Garrett Johnson is the only other feature winner this season in the classification.

In 360 Sprints there have been four races and there have been four different winners. Defending champion Henry Van Dam won the last 360 Sprint feature and joined J.J. Hickle, Rick Fauver, and Jay Cole as main event winners this season. In USRA Modified races this year Scott Miller has earned the most victories this season with three wins while Joe German, Lawrence O’Conner, Tom Sweatman, and Zack Simpson have all visited victory lane in 2012.

Saturday night’s admission is a little different compared to regular events and is the following: Adults $15.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (15-18)/Military $12.00, Youths (6-14) $7.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $35.00, and Premium Seating $25.00. Gates open at 2:30 for the pits and 4:30 for the grandstands with racing starting at 6:30.

The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large size. Hosting regular racing action from April to September with 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets as regular classes. In addition the venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-National Tour.
