Willamette 100 on tap July 7

LEBANON, Ore. -- The 100-lap races have returned to Willamette Speedway and on Saturday, July 7, there will be not one but two extra long features that will run for 100 laps each. Both the DirtCar Super Late Models and the USRA Modifieds will both partake in the two long races for the night while the Sportsman will be on hand with a normal program for them.

In both the USRA Modifieds and DirtCar Super Late Models there have yet to be a repeat winner this current season. Justin Evans won the most recent USRA Modified feature on Wednesday July 4th. With Evans’ win he would join the likes of Ken Schrader, Kyle Yeack, Dustin Dittman, Craig Cassell, Jesse Williamson, and Mark Wauge as 2012 feature winners. In DirtCar Super Late Model action the last feature winner was John Duty on June 16th while Jeremy Shank, Russ Sell, Rob Mayea, and Casey Vitale have all visited victory lane this year too.

The Sportsman division has seen four different winners this year and Justin Dittman earned the most recent point race back on June 16th. Danny Altom has two victories this season but captured the non-point event on June 19th. Joining Altom and Dittman in the win column is Brian Winkler and Todd Miller.

Admission to the Saturday event is the following prices: Adults $14.00, Seniors (62 and Over) $12.00, Children (12 and Under) $6.00, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Children) $30.00, and Pit Passes $25.00. The pit gate opens at noon while general admission gates open at 2:00. Qualifying is scheduled for 3:00 while racing should be getting started around 6:00.

The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and has been regarded as the “Late Model Capital of the Northwest” for many years and is anxious to host fans with the vast upgrades and improvements done over the 2011-12 winter. The venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and the American Sprint Car Series-National Tour along with weekly action comprising of DirtCar Late Models, USRA Modifieds, Sportsman, Classics, and Mini Trucks.
