$5,000 Fan Frenzy Money Drop this Friday at Mineral City Speedway

FORT DODGE, Iowa -- It’s going to be raining in Fort Dodge this Friday … raining money, that is.

This Friday night, July 6, the Mineral City Speedway will be hosting the highly-anticipated $5,000 Fan Frenzy Money Drop during the popular racetrack’s USRA Weekly Racing Series program featuring Stock Cars, B-Mods, Hobby Stocks, Econo Stocks and Hornets.

There will be 52 fans eligible for the money drop where $5,000 in cold, hard cash will fall from 100 feet in the air. Each participant will be able to snag as much cash out of the air as they possibly can, but once it touches the ground it is off limits.

The money drop will include twenty $50 bills, fifty $20 bills, one-hundred $10 bills, two-hundred $5 bills and one-thousand $1 bills.

Officials will draw 15 tickets numbers from paying adults in the grandstands Friday night. Another 15 people will be selected from Fan Appreciation Night two weeks ago (bring back your ticket from that race and get a new ticket or if you used it last week for the USMTS race bring back that ticket stub and get a new ticket). The track will also be raffling off 15 spots (one ticket for $10 or three for $20) and drawing two fans from the sale of 50/50 tickets. The final five participants will be drawn from those buying pit passes Friday night.

Whether or not you get your chance to take home some extra cash, you will certainly get your money’s worth with food and drink specials all night to accompany great racing action in five classes.

Grandstand gates open at 5:00 this Friday, with hot laps start at 7:00 and the first green flag at 7:30. Adult grandstand tickets are $10, kids ages 13-16 are $6 and children under 13 get in for free. Pit passes are $25.

The Mineral City Speedway is a 1/2-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 0.9 mile north of US 20 on US 169, then 0.5 mile east on 230th. For a complete 2012 schedule, complete weekly payouts and more check out www.mineralcityspeedway.com online.
