HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- Humboldt Speedway held its annual awards banquet this past weekend in Humboldt, Kan.

Points champions in all divisions and other top drivers were presented with season-ending awards at the sold-out banquet on Saturday night.

Justin Folk was honored as the 2010 USRA RHS Modified track champion.

It was the second straight track championship for “Whitey” at the 3/8-mile clay oval and his seventh overall in twelve seasons.

The 32-year-old from Iola, Kan., also won three in a row from 2000-02 and back-to-back crowns in the 2006-07 racing seasons.

He also finished fifth in the USRA Weekly Racing Series national points for USRA RHS Modifieds, following up his eighth-place finish last year and runner-up finish in 2008.

The other five titles during the last dozen years were captured by his older brother, Jesse Folk Jr., who won Modified track championships at Humboldt in 1999, 2003-05 and 2008.

Big brother finished second to little brother in this year's final standings.

Rounding out the top ten in this year’s standings were Scott Daniels, Brian Bolin, Rodney Sigg, Ryan Whitworth, Dennis Bishop, Paden Phillips, Gene Hogan and John Allen.

Major improvements to the facility are underway, including an expanded new pit area behind the back straightaway.

The USMTS Modifieds are in town the following Saturday, March 12, and action in the USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA RHS Modifieds begins on Saturday, March 19.

The track switches back to their traditional Friday night racing program beginning April 1.
