Kath wins as Dodge County Speedway closes season with a bang

KASSON, Minn. - After taking a month off, the historic Dodge County Speedway roared back to life for one more show to conclude the 2010 race season. It was the Kasson Klash and the USMTS Modifieds were on the card along with the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods and five other support classes in their final points night.

The USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods got off to a bad start when six cars piled up in turn one. Brandon Reutzel took the lead from row one with Parker Hale and Kylie Kath in formation.

Kath got to second on lap four and after a caution slowed the field, Kath went to work on the leader. Kath raced the low groove and the field reached the half-way mark with a side-by-side race for the lead.

Kath took the point on lap eight and never looked back. Shaun Walski flew on the high side and zipped to second. Kath scored his second win of the season when he led the rest of the race. Walski finished second, but refused a claim on his engine and was disqualified. That moved Tyler Groenendyk to second with Reutzel third.

That concluded the 2010 season at the Dodge County Speedway. The Dodge County Fairboard and S.M.S. Promotions would like to thank all of the drivers, fans and sponsors for a fun season. Stay tuned to media outlets in the off-season for updates on what will happen for 2011.
