Storms knock out Dodge County Fair races

KASSON, Minn. - The American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series stormed into the Dodge County Speedway on Wednesday evening set for the Thunderbird Open. It was the kick-off to the 153rd Dodge County Fair, but Mother Nature’s curse continued and they quickly stormed right back out of town when thunderstorms with heavy rain stopped the show.

Just as the heat races for the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods were completed, the deluge hit the fairgrounds. Torrential rain fell and forced everyone to scramble for cover. With all of the qualifiying completed, the show was deemed half concluded.

The features for the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods and other weekly classes will be made-up on Sunday, July 25.

There are only two shows that remain on the regular season schedule at Kasson. This Sunday, July 18, will feature racing to conclude the Dodge County Fair with USRA RHS Modifieds, USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods and all other classes in action plus the vintage cars.

Then on Sunday, July 25, the final weekly show of the season happens before the speedway takes take the month of August off before returning with the “Kasson Klash” on Sunday, Sept. 5.
