Osky action kicks off Wednesday with Aaron Brown Stock Car
OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- Wednesday night will be the season opener for the Carriker Ford Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, with the Aaron Brown Stock Car Classic. This will be the second season of RL Promotions operating the track and several specials races set up for the 2005 race season, highlighted with the Pro-Line Buildings Great American Stock Car Challenge set for May that will pay the winner $10,000 again this season.
The season will kick off this Wednesday night with hot laps slated for 7 p.m. and racing to follow. USRA Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks will be racing weekly this season as part of the USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series. Casey’s General Store has come on as title sponsor of the USRA this season and will offer a national points fund that will be based off a driver's best 30 finishes.
The Carriker Ford Southern Iowa Speedway has put together a very solid purse for the upcoming season and will pay the winner of the modifieds $600 each and every Wednesday night with $100 to start the modified A-main. In the USRA Stock Car class each night will pay $300 to win with each car starting the main event pocketing $75. The USRA hobby stock class will pay $200 to win with each car starting the main event pocketing $50. This will be one of the best paying tracks in the state and should attract several of the top drivers each and every Wednesday night.
Something new for the Carriker Ford Southern Iowa Speedway will be kids 11 and under FREE every Wednesday night. Adult prices will be $9 with Juniors 12-18 and Seniors 65 and older $7. We will once again have Kids’ Night once a month. On these nights we will have a candy and nickel toss and will give kids rides.
