Deaton wins USRA RHS Modified feature at Humboldt
HUMBOLDT, Kan. - With rain that canceled Friday night's races, drivers were geared up to put on a heck of a show on Sunday at the Humboldt Speedway.
Chris Deaton from Wann, Okla., was definitely the fastest car in the USRA RHS Modified division.
Winning his heat, along with Dennis Bishop finishing first in the second heat, Deaton was able to take the early lead in the main event for all 20 laps, but not without a tough challenge by Scott Daniels.
Daniels finished second in his heat and finished second in the main event.
Ryan Whitworth, who has had some bad luck the last couple of weeks, got the kinks worked out by starting eighth in the feature and slicing his way through traffic to finish third.
Gary Langworthy Jr. from Coffeyville and a strong competitor at "The Hummer" followed behind Whitworth for fourth.
Lucas Conley started tenth and moved up to fifth.
Regular races this Friday night, April 23.
