USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods join Mississippi Thunder Speedway line-up in 2010

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. — The Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., will make the USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods part of their weekly Friday night program beginning in 2010, track owner Bob Timm announced this week.

Licensed drivers racing in the USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mod division at the lightning-fast 3/8-mile high-banked oval will be eligible for track points funds, as well as a lucrative national points funds as part of the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series.

“We feel the addition of the USRA B-Mod class provides racers with yet another economical class to choose from with a well established set of rules as well as track and national point funds,” Timm said.

Timm, from Winona, Minn., is a veteran Modified driver and a former WISSOTA National Champion, but 2009 was his rookie season in the racetrack promotions business as he took over the reigns of the former Tri-Oval Speedway. With the new role also came a new configuration for the track, a new clay surface and a new name.

In addition to the USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods, Friday night racing at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway also features the exciting USRA Modifieds. More details on the 2010 weekly program are yet to come.

RaceCeivers and AMB transponders will be mandatory in all classes for the 2010 season, track officials said.
