HUMBOLDT, Kan. - The last race at the Humboldt Speedway for 2009 may have been the best yet.

With big money at stake, USRA Modified drivers pulled out all the stops Saturday night and absolutely wowed the fans.

While Ron Bolin Jr. was recieving his trophy for his B-Mod feature win, brother Brian Bolin pulled out on the track to offer congratulations while preparing for an epic USRA Modified battle: 30 laps for $1,500 to win.

At the green, Ryan McAninich grabbed the lead but was overhauled by Bolin moments later.

While several drivers challenged Bolin, 2009 points champ Justin "Whitey" Folk, who started fifth row inside, seemed strangely subdued, maintaining in mid-pack past the mid-point of the race.

Shortly beyond the mid-point after a yellow flag prompted a restart, Folk suddenly came roaring to life.

Soon, Bolin was facing a serious threat to his lead both from second-place Folk and Steven Bowers Jr., who was doing some fine driving on his way to third.

It came down to the last lap and lapped traffic.

Off turn four, Folk made his move with Bowers close at hand but Bolin executed a daring block in lapped traffic and won the race.

Folk was second and Bowers third, followed by Gregg Skaggs and Johnny Bone Jr.
