Fan voting underway for Lucas Oil Speedway Most Popular Driver Award

One of the fun awards during Lucas Oil Speedway’s annual post-season awards banquet involves the fans, who are directly responsible for selecting the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series Most Popular Driver Award for the 2021 season.

Voting has opened for the award and will continue through midnight October 28. Fans can cast their vote at cast their vote at LucasOilSpeedway.com for the annual award. Drivers in the top 10 in final points in the Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods, ULMA Late Models and O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars are eligible.

There's even a place for a write-in vote if your favorite weekly driver is not listed. One vote per email address is permitted.

“This is always a fun award that we can up with a few years ago to help give some additional recognition to our drivers,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. “Making it unique is how it directly involves our fans in the process. We invite everyone to participate and support their favorite Lucas Oil Speedway weekly driver.”

There will be a new winner this year. Late Model driver Kaeden Cornell of Willard won the Most Popular Driver award each of the last four years, but he did not race as a regular at the speedway in 2021.

The winner of the award will be announced at the Lucas Oil Speedway Championship Banquet and Awards Presentation, set for Nov. 13 at Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour from 6-7. Invocation is set for 7 with dinner and awards to follow.

Tickets are $40 each and the public is invited. Tickets must be reserved in advance by October 28. Contact Admissions Director Nichole McMillin at (417) 282-5984 or via email at nichole@lucasoilspeedway.com.

For those interested in staying the night, they can call Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake of the Ozarks by November 1 at (573) 348-3131 and ask for the special Lucas Oil Speedway group rate of $129 per room.
