Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Championship rolls through Oskaloosa Sept. 1
The USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour event scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Steele County Speedway in Owatonna, Minn., was rained out. In an effort to keep the total number of events in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Championship at 18, promoter Todd Staley has added a stop at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
This will be the first of six straight nights of racing featuring a top prize of $3,000 at each event … that’s $18,000 for the winner’s share of the purse over the six days!
Also on the racing card will be USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, Carter's Manufacturing USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks racing for track and national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series. USRA Modifieds that attend the show and compete with the USMTS Modifieds will receive 100 track points.
The event will be round 8 of 18 in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Championship, and more than 50 entries are expected at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster for the show.
Pit gates will open at 5:00, grandstands open at 5:30, hot laps are at 7:15 and the green flag unfurls to start the first heat race at 7:30.
