Bennett, Jauregui cap Labor Day Weekend doubleheader at Vado Speedway Park

Mingo Jauregui won the USRA B-Mod main event.
Sunday evening at the Vado Speedway Park, Bryan Bennett worked his way forward from his 12th starting spot in the Medieval USRA Stock Car feature to race to another win and pad his track points lead in the process.
In a good battle up front, Gary Kerr Jr., Daniel Blaeser and Rick Garcia wowed the crowd with side-by-side and three wide battles for the top spot throughout the majority of the event, which Bennett was able to outlast and pick up the win.
Kerr ran second with Jonathan Burton, who had to rally from the tail, third, ahead of Shane McNutt and Garrett Stearns in the top five.
After coasting across the finish line with a last-place finish in his heat race with an apparent mechanical issue, Mingo Jauregui charged from his 20th starting spot to take top honors in the USRA B-Mod main event to cap off the night.
Jauregui and Rob Moseley, who started 18th, both worked their way through the field together and were on a mission to get to the front, which they both did.
Daniel Lozoya led early until Lucas Ward and Greg Gorham came calling and took over the top several spots briefly before Jauregui was able to race into the top spot after a late race restart and hold off Moseley for his second win of the season in impressive fashion.
Gorham, Ward and Hector Barraza rounded out the top five.
The Vado Speedway Park will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 11, with First Responders Appreciation Night where any EMS, fire or police get into the grandstand area free.
The pits open at 4 p.m. with the grandstand opening at 5 and racing starting at 7:30.
