Dylan Clinton won the Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stock main event.

With ferris wheel and carnival lights providing a picture-perfect backdrop at Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa, on Wednesday night, the annual fair races provided plenty of action all night long.

The USRA B-Mod feature race featured several big movers in the field of 27 cars, but none bigger than race winner Dan Hovden of Decorah.

The No. 16 started eighth on the field and gained the lead in the final laps of the 20-lapper to pick up his fifth win of the season at the track.

The race was led early by eventual runner-up Cole Suckow of Cresco.

Several laps in, Decorah’s Keagen Einck made his way to the front and appeared to be untouchable.

With only a handful of circuits remaining, Einck lost control on the slick track and gave up his lead.

With Hovden and Suckow taking the top two spots, hard charger Brian Mahlstedt (advanced nine spots) of Ionia took third.

Dom Mueller of Decorah finished fourth and Independence veteran Jerry Luloff was fifth.

Grabbing his second win of the season in the Medieval USRA Stock Car division was Calmar’s Lynn Panos who led from green to checkered.

Panos held off the constant pressure of Decorah’s Kevin Donlan, who finished second.

Jake Lampert (Caledonia, Minn.) started eighth on the field and crossed the line third while Mitch Hovden (Decorah) was fourth and Chris Hovden (Cresco) rounded out the top five.

In the Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stock main event, Edgewood’s Dylan Clinton continued to have a stellar sophomore season in the class as earned his fourth win of the season at the track.

The win was extra special for Clinton as his four-month-old son was in attendance for the first time to watch his dad.

Second place went to Josh Ludeking of Decorah while Justin Lichty of Waterloo took third.

In fourth was West Union’s Daryl Moss while Paul Seabrooke of Decorah was fifth.

The USRA Tuner division was off for the night and will raced Thursday night as a support class for the fair’s school bus races.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action will return to Fayette County Speedway on Friday, July 30, for Hall of Fame Night.

The races will have a free admission and will feature all four USRA classes back in action.
