14th Annual MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout this Wednesday at Southern Iowa Speedway

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – After two quiet Wednesday nights at the Southern Iowa Speedway, fans and drivers alike will be pumped up and ready to go when racing action returns on Wednesday, July 1, for the 14th Annual MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout.

On tap will be the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring MUSCO Lighting USRA Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.

The best Stock Car drivers in Iowa and the surrounding States will be at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster to battle for a $2,000 winner's share of the purse. Modifieds and B-Mods will race for $1,000 to win and the Hobby Stock main event will carry a $500 top prize.

All classes will be governed by USRA weekly rules. Track points and national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series will be awarded for USRA-licensed drivers. Cars meeting IMCA rules in any of the four classes are legal and eligible to compete in this event. No license or track membership is required. In addition to the American Racer KK704, the Hoosier G60 tire will also be allowed in the Modified, Stock Car and B-Mod classes.

The pits will open at 4:00 on Wednesday and grandstand gates will open at 5:30, with hot laps at 7:00 and racing at 7:30 sharp.

Defending MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout champions are Brian Mitrisin (Stock Cars), Jason McDaniel (Hobby Stocks), Brian Edel (B-Mods) and Brad Pinkerton (Modifieds).
