LEBANON, Mo. – Officials from the Action Track of the Ozarks—the Midway Speedway in Lebanon, Mo.—have released their 2009 racing schedule and added a couple of new classes for the racing season. Pure Stocks have been added to the weekly Friday night shows while the Hillbilly Farm Trucks will be running special enduro events during the season.

Billed for its close racing action, the Midway Speedway will start off with three scheduled Saturday night practice dates on April 4, April 11 and April 18.

The classes competing for track championships in 2009 will be the Late Model Sportsmans (formerly Super Stocks), USRA Modifieds, Factory Stocks, B-Mods, Bombers and Pure Stocks.

Most Friday night shows will feature five classes, allowing drivers a little time off during the racing season.

Special events in 2009 will find the always-popular United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) invading the Midway Speedway with NASCAR's Kenny Wallace competing that evening on May 15.

The lightning-fast Winged OutLaw Warrior (WOW) 360 Sprint Cars will return to the track for a June 12 event while the Speedway will hold two special Non-Winged Sprint events this season on May 1 and June 26.

The Winged and Non-Winged Sprints will also be part of the Coca-Cola Fall Brawl in September.

Open Late Model action will see the Midwest-based MARS/DLRA Late Model Series come to town on July 10, along with the MSRA Late Models in a special challange event for the running of the 3rd Annual Larry Phillips Birthday Bash and will also be part of a special two-day event at the Midway Speedway on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-5.

The season will close Sept. 25-26 with the always-exciting Coca-Cola Fall Brawl with another large purse.

The Speedway will be bringing enduro racing back to the area with an enduro feature event every last Friday of each month, along with the Hillbilly Farm Truck enduro also being run on the same night, along with regular racing programs.

In 2009, the Speedway will again sanction with the Modifieds with the United States Racing Association as part of the USRA American Racer Weekly Racing Series.

Defending champions from 2008 include Ben Newell (Late Model Sportsmans), Jamie Ragland (USRA Modifieds), Tim Petty (Factory Stocks), Jason Otto (B-Mods), Brandon Knudtson (Bombers) and J.P. Compton (305 Winged Sprints).
