HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- Promoters Ron and Rhenda Whitworth have been slowly, but surely, making Humboldt Speedway a better place to race. Since taking ownership of the speedway, fans and drivers have witnessed many improvements each year.

The wall around the track, new bleachers, new bathrooms and a new concession stand are just a few of the many tasks undertaken by the track owners. Look for some of the same stuff in 2009.

Action on the track has always been fast and furious at "The Hummer." Over the years, many memories come to mind from previous visits. This season the action will be hot and heavy each week with the USRA Modifieds battling for track and national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series, plus B Mods, Factory Stocks and Street Stocks.

Not only are you guaranteed great weekly action, but the specials that the Whitworths bring you are just as good as promised.

Modified fans get ready for some awesome action on March 14 and again on Aug. 14 when the Modifieds of the USMTS National Tour make their way to Humboldt. This is always one of the best shows of the year.

In 2009, there are several USRA Modified specials as well, including $1,000-to-win shows on April 10, May 31, June 12 and July 3.

The USRA Modifieds won't be the only class treated like kings at Humboldt. Several specials are planned for other classes too, including B-Mods and Factory Stocks racing for $500 to win on May 31 while Street Stocks will be looking at $500 to win on July 17.

One new addition to the '09 season will be the season finale. Put Oct. 2-3 on your calendar now! The event will feature $1,500 to win for USRA Modifieds and $1,000 to win in both the B-Mods and Factory Stocks. This should be a great way to cap off an outstanding season.
