Bloomfield Speedway caps off 2008 with Season Championships

BLOOMFIELD, Iowa - The final night at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway was sponsored by KBOE 104.9FM, Rancheo Centennial and Pepsi-Cola with several new faces in victory lane.

The USRA Hobby Stock feature went to first-time visitor Jimmy Hayes of Moravia who battled Derek Kirkland. The track championship went to Jason McDaniel of Eldon who scored his third track title while trying to become the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series national champion.

The USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods saw a good battle between Bloomfield's Mike Shelton and Cory Brown of Ottumwa with Brown making the pass on the inside of Shelton with two laps remaining. This was Brown’s first ever win. Shelton took the second spot which was enough to take the track championship over Andrew Schroeder of Keswick.
