Current Lebanon Midway Speedway and Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series USRA B-Mod national points leader Dillion McCowan rode to the top groove from his fourth starting spot to grab the lead from Tyler Knudtson on lap five and then pulled away in capturing the feature win Friday night before a capacity crowd.

After the redraw, McCowan redrew the No. 4 for the $500-to-win 20-lap feature.

Knudtson brought the field to the green with Dayton Pursley to his outside.

Knudtson was glued to the low line around the racy smooth surface as Pursley stayed close behind with Chad Status, Rex Harris and a tight pack nearby as McCowan, who earlier in the evening had won the Modified feature, grabbed the extreme top lane and started to pick off the competition with Knudtson setting a quick pace.

McCowan, the defending track champion, then found the long way around the 1/3-mile oval perfect for him keeping the car straight and digging off the turns.

Once in front, McCowan pulled away to only find two short cautions closing the pack.

During the long green runs, several drivers were suffling spots as Knudtson had moved up the track one lane as Pursley began a strong push to the runner-up spot while John Seets III and Austin Seets started moving forward as Status began to fall back and early front-runner Rex Harris got sideways while in the top five battling for position and had to go to the back.

With five laps remaining, Pursley made a smooth move on Knudtson to secure his career best finish with the runner-up spot while John Seets III, Austin Seets and Knudtson completed the top five.

McCowan and Knudtson captured the qualifying heat races

Action in the USRA B-Mods presented by S&S U-Pull-It Auto Parts continues next Friday along with Late Models, Midwest Mods, Pure Stocks and Hornets with racing to start at 8 p.m.
