OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Points leader Boone McLaughlin of Mediapolis became the first repeat winner of the season in the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models following Wednesday night's disqualification of Ray Guss Jr. in the KBOE 104.9FM main event at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Guss was also disqualified from his Tuesday night win at the Davenport (Iowa) Speedway. IMCA officials conducting post-race technical inspections at Oskaloosa announced that unapproved alterations had been made to a spec cylinder head in Guss’s engine, resulting in the multiple disqualifications.

Hometown favorite T.J. Criss started on the pole and ran in front through the first 28 of Wednesday's 35-lapper at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster. What wound up being a runner-up finish resulted in his best showing in six feature appearances with the Deery Bros Summer Series.

Wednesday’s show in front of a jam-packed grandstand during the Southern Iowa Fair was the first for the series at Oskaloosa since June 18, 2003.

In USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series action, the USRA Hobby Stock feature went to Jason McDaniel of Eldon who took the lead from Don Nunnikhoven when Nunnikhoven cut a right front tire. The second spot went to Kevin Fee of Knoxville, with Danny Thrasher of Agency in third.

The Carter's Manufacturing USRA B-Mods saw Cory Brown lead the field to the green, but Andrew Schroeder of Keswick took the lead and the win, with last week's winner, Brian Edel of Oskaloosa, in second and Rick Landgrebe of Sigourney in third.

In the MUSCO Lighting USRA Modified main event, Donovan Lodge of Moline, Ill., led all 16 laps in holding of current points leader Ron Ver Beek of Oskaloosa. Third place money went to Webster's Colt Mather.

Making a special one-time appearance at the Southern Iowa Speedway, the Karl Chevrolet Dirt Trucks saw Brett Moyer of Polk City take the win over Matt Moro. Matt's father, Tony, finished third.

The USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars saw Mike VanGenderen of Newton lead all but the final lap with Colt Mather making the pass after VanGenderen jumped the cushion in turn 3 and finished in second. Osky driver Corey Stout was third.

Next Wednesday, July 30, will see the return of the amazing Modifieds of the O'Reilly USMTS National Tour. The night will also feature NASCAR stars Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace piloting their own high-powered Modifieds, along with Jimmy Spencer as "Mr. Excitement" will serve as Grand Marshall and Master of Ceremonies for the evening's events.

Also on the racing card will be a complete program of the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, Carter's Manufacturing USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.
