Coming off a momentum building season in 2019, the 82 Speedway in Petty, Texas, is set for a huge sophomore season of racing in 2020 with Tracy and Shelley Peters returning as the track owners.

The new schedule boasts several special and featured events throughout the year with the addition of the USRA Modifieds, USRA Factory Stocks and USRA Limited Mods as part of the weekly Saturday night program.

Competitors at the 82 Speedway will earn Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series track and national points as well as the MSD Performance Southern Region presented by MVT for the USRA Modifieds.

Texas Stocks, EcoMods, EcoStocks and a front-wheel drive division are also on the racing card.

Located right off Highway 82 just west of Paris it’s a quick 80-minute drive from the Northeast quadrant of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The sprawling facility features a super-wide high-banked 1/4-mile oval that widens to nearly a 1/3-mile on the top groove. There’s runoff area on the straights and corners all the way around which helps reduce unnecessary crashes due to mechanical failures.

An expansive and elevated grandstand allows fans to pick and choose their viewing location, and every seat features unobstructed viewing as the infield is basically left empty for that reason.

The 82 Speedway is also known for their high standard of safety in track construction with high walls plus solid fencing and cabling systems.

Sanctioned USRA Modifieds and Limited Mods previously competed at the facility in 2015 when it was known as East Texas Speedway. Since that time, the Peters Family has added updated bathrooms, concession stand and changed the track configuration.
