HUMBOLDT, Kan. - Johnny Bone Jr. won the 16th Annual Humboldt Speedway Modified Blast Thursday night.

Well, maybe saying he "won" it is a bit of an understatement. This guy rolled into town and smoked everybody.

After winning his share of five Modified heats, Bone lined up on the outside pole of the 20-car "A" main field, right beside Scott Daniels.

This field was made up of the cream of the 38 USRA Modifieds that came to race for $1,000 to win and a year's worth of bragging rights.

When the green flag dropped, Bone was, quite simply, gone.

After finishing second to Justin "Whitey" Folk in a classic battle several weeks ago, Bone was, at least for this trip, unstoppable, lapping 25 percent of the field in 20 laps that ran free of yellow flags.

Folk finished in this week's runner-up spot, ending his recent win streak.

When all was said and done, Dustin Boney had third place, with John Allen and Scott Daniels rounding out the top-five.

After the races, the capacity crowd was treated to a beautiful fireworks display.
