Kasson Speedway debuts double feature format June 15

KASSON, Minn. -  Kasson Speedway has announced a double feature format for it’s A&A Electric and Underground USRA Modifieds starting Sunday, June 15.

"We believe our new format will prove to be a fan favorite, giving them more of what they want," said Kasson Speedway promoter Scott Mondus. "In addition, the drivers will accumulate double the points in just one night of racing, basically cutting their expenses in half, and the total purse has been increased!

"We believe we need to develop as many programs as we can to aid our drivers and fans alike in these tough economic times."

The format will lock in the top-15 in track points for the first feature, set by a blind draw. The remaining cars will run a qualifier race for the last five spots in the 15-lap AMP Energy Feature #1. The second feature will lock in the top-15 finishers from the first feature with the top-10 inverted. The remaining non-qualifiers will run another qualifying race for the last five spots in the second feature, which will be 20 laps.

Mondus added that the track will adopt a similar format for their Pure Stock and Hornet classes.

This Sunday, June 15, will also honor the men and women in uniform with Military Appreciation Night. Tickets for all military personell are only $5, and the track also offers a $2 discount all season long with a military ID. Kasson Speedway will also host a pre-race tailgate party with free hot dogs and $2 beers from 2-4 p.m.
