Murray County Speedway canceled for May 23
SLAYTON, Minn. - The races for Friday, May 23 have been canceled due to several items that are being completed.
However, the big news is that the Murray County Speedway will be opening their 2008 season on May 30 with the Grain Exchange of Slayton and Pegasus GC of Slayton sponsoring the night's events.
After a long winter and spring, it's time to come see the new facilities at the Murray County Speedway. The new grandstand is offering a complete view of the track, even from the front row of seats. The new concession stand will be relieving the long crowded lines for your favorite concession items. The grandstands will be opening at 6 p.m., so come early to see the new surroundings and to find your favorite spots to sit. A full schedule of classes will be running this night, with many of your favorite drivers back, attempting to win a Championship for the 2008 season. There are even a few drivers moving up in class for new a challenge against the established drivers.
It's finally time to get back together with your friends and enjoy your Friday nights at the Murray County Speedway. Hot laps will begin at 7:15 p.m., with racing to follow at 7:30. As always after the races, the fans are invited to come out to the pit area and visit the drivers.
Back for its second year is the Murray County Speedway Junior Fan Club. The Speedway would like to invite all children between the ages of 5 -15 years old, to be part of the many activities that happen every night at the speedway. New this year, is a drawing each night for a boys and girls bicycle for all Junior fans that are in attendance.
